Trying to get an entourage together to visit one of NYC's museums which is home to a collection of Oya, aka Turkish Lace.
To view this collection, arrangements must be made in advance.
To view the collection, I will (eventually) make an appointment to view the PC pictures and choose what laces to see. The staff searches for those that are available for viewing and are not too fragile, too big etc. Then in about 4-6 weeks, (by appointment only) the laces are laid out for us to see. Very few ever get onto the main floor.
I'll be offering this to my readers/followers once, as things are getting a bit hectic for me personally.
Date I will be in NYC in the near future:
February 15th (time availability TBA)
If you are seriously interested and able to join me for 2/15, please leave a comment here or PM me directly on Ravelry.
I'll be calling this week to see about making arrangements to view via computer what ultimately can be made available to view.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to follow me, and for all your friendship and support!
TENTATIVE: Wednesday, November 11th
Wednesday, November 11th will be the next time I'll be in NYC.
Possibilities for this jaunt:
NOTE: MetroCard and comfortable shoes are required for this jaunt.
If you're interested and serious about tagging along, the courtesy of an RSVP in the comments is necessary due to timing constraints (i.e., Whether I am alone or escorting an entourage directly impacts what time I arrive in NYC.)
Possibilities for this jaunt:
- The Yarn Co. AND/OR
- Knitty City
- American Museum of Natural History to check out the Spider Silk exhibit (literally, it'll be a "hit and run" just to view this exhibit and not tour the entire museum)
- Lunch at either Hampton Chutney Co., or Fatty Crab
- Lush!

NY Sheep & Wool: My "Haul"
I did not go to this year's NY Sheep & Wool to go crazy with purchases. I went primarily as a "socializing vehicle," to see friends from other states I haven't had a chance to meet, and to schmooze it up with IRL friends, too.
I did manage to purchase three items:
Smoked Venison Sausage (No picture; I EEEEEATED IT!)
"Bonne Bouche," hand-made, ash-ripened goat cheese
And a 4 oz skein/485 yards of hand-dyed fingering sock yarn (in the "Rainbow" colorway) by Steam Valley Fiber (Picture of yarn to be posted tomorrow--camera battery is charging as I type this.

Those seriously interested, please contact me at intheloopnyc AT aol DOT com, so concrete plans can be made.
